Crete

Crete is a beautiful Greek island steeped in history. Whilst the safari up the side of a mountain was beautiful, my favorite part of this trip was the short boat journey to Spinalonga Island. This island was made famous from the book 'The Island' by Victoria Hislop but ultimately was known for being the location where sufferers of Leprosy were exiled to reduce contamination in 1903. Now a deserted island, this place is extremely eerie, with derelict houses and crumbling walls which once housed these condemned individuals. I hope you enjoy some of the photographs I took while on my trip.
